Fees

There is no set fee structure for Notarial services. Individual Notaries will charge a proper professional fee that reflects the cost of their services in terms of time, skill and responsibility, similar to other professional service providers.

Most Notaries now provide facilities for payment by way of debit or credit card and all of them will accept payment by way of cheque. Most will also accept cash although that will be dictated by the size of the Bill.

Notaries who are sole practitioners as solicitors will charge VAT although those who are in practice in partnership with other solicitors do not, as Notarial fees are personal to the Notary Public and the level of fees earned would not qualify for VAT registration.

Most Notaries will insist upon payment at the time particularly where there is a requirement to have documents Apostilled.
